Public Sector Web Development with Joomla, Magento & Others
Back in 2005 Amplify were involved with implementing the open-source web platform Joomla! into the UK Government's National Health Care system (The NHS) and were one of the early web design and development companies to achieve this. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and now regularly deliver web projects based on Joomla!, Magento, Moodle and other open-source web platforms to the UK Public Sector.
"Getting Joomla! into the Public Sector back then was not an easy task" says company Director Allan Walker (also the author of Joomla! 1.5 Multimedia Book by Packt publishing). "There was comfort in knowing you would pay money for a commercial licensed product and some projects required the functionality that these established systems could bring to the table and the support packages that often came as part of the package".
Increasing budget restraints within the Government, the evolution of open-source products, and the confidence of seeing them showcased within other projects, sees platforms like Joomla, Magento, Drupal, Moodle now being taken as serious contenders. These open-source products are now being delivered as successful web solutions within the public sector, local authoritys, schools, university's, police forces, nhs, and many other public sector environments.
Amplify provide an end-to-end web design and development service and specialise in Public Sector web projects, we also hold security clearance for more sensitive web development work. We have delivered Joomla!, Magento, ZenCart, Moodle, Drupal into the NHS, Department for International Development, Ministry of Defence, Queen Mary University of London, UK Local Council & Authorities, Universities, Schools and Government intranets. We have the skills to bend and stretch Joomla and other open-source products to whatever degree your project requires. We always provide professional consultancy services with our creations, to ensure the decisions made for your project considers user experience, accessibility standards and the effect decisions made may have on your sites future maintenance and support.
