Amplify continue success with Joomla CMS in the Public Sector
Back in 2009 the UK Government published a new policy aimed at promoting the use of open-source software within the public sector. Since then we have seen a dramatic increase in the interest and acceptance of public sector web projects considering the Joomla! Content Management System.
Amplify have been using Joomla! since it's inception back in 2005. We helped implement it into the UK NHS back in 2007, but at this time open-source products such as Joomla! were not given as high regard compared to corporate licensed alternatives. The project was a great success and Joomla! is now used throughout numerous NHS Strategic Health Authorities in the UK, which must show its effectiveness as a solution in the competitive world of CMS systems.
Since that project, Amplify have continued to work with and implement the open-source Joomla! CMS into public sector projects for The Ministry of Defence, The Foreign & Commonwealth Office, The Department for International Development, a number of UK Universities, and UK Police force.
We are happy to report that Joomla! has been a great solution for these projects. Not just in decreased build and implementation costs for the client, but as a scalable web CMS framework that contains cutting edge features to easily compete with the high cost licensed systems.
A big round of applause to all those who have helped Joomla! turn into what it now is!
